The short version
Where'd I Put It keeps everything on your device. We don't have a server for your data, we don't have accounts, and we never collect, transmit, sell, or share what you store.
What we store, and where
- On iOS: the items, locations, and notes you add are saved locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage.
- On the web: your data is saved only in your browser's local storage on this device.
- Nothing you type leaves your device unless you choose to export a backup file and share it yourself.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-up.
- No analytics, tracking, ads, or fingerprinting.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No data is sent to us or anyone else.
Backups
The export feature creates a file that you control. You decide where it goes. We never receive a copy.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
